I would like to start off by saying that it has been a pleasure coaching all of you this year or in the past. I look forward to seeing all of you grow over the next few years to developed into amazing soccer players. I can’t believe that it is already time for tryouts for the 2009 season. The 2008 season seemed to go by so fast, time flies when you’re having fun. Now that we are in the off-season, it is an excellent time for those players interested in improving their skills to catch up or get ahead.
For young soccer players it is all about touches on the ball, and the more touches one player gets the faster they will develop. I tell kids all the time “The only difference between them and David Beckham is about a million touches on the ball, okay maybe 1 billion!” So the player that gets the most touches on the ball, will ultimately have the most control of the ball.
The goal of the private training sessions is to get as many touches as possible. Of course every player has specific needs that must be addressed but each training would covered moves, dribbling, passing, shooting, kicks, headers, speed and agility. Also my goal is to educate each player on diet, leadership, positioning, and overall soccer education.
I am currently looking to fill a total of 12 private training spots with 3 already taken as of Tuesday; March 3, 2009 @ 10:27 AM. I will be holding three separate sessions during the week and possibly the weekend. For those that are interested in private training during the spring and summer, please visit (http://thesoccerfox.com/private-training) to sign up or simply reply to this e-mail.
Also if you know of any other players that may be interested, please forward this e-mail on. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much, and I look forward to seeing you on the field!
See you on the Field,
Coach Derek Fox
